In 1946, After his foreigner partner ceased operations in Egypt as a result of World War II, Abdelkader Mohamed Al-Akkad chose to forge his own path. What began as a modest sole proprietorship quickly evolved into Mahoney Marine Services, a name born from resilience, trusted relationships, and unwavering commitment to excellence.

Through decades of shifting political tides and economic challenges, Abdelkader’s leadership never faltered. He pioneered tugboat services tailored to Lash carriers, secured longstanding partnerships with American shipowners, and expanded Mahoney’s footprint across Alexandria Port and beyond.

But beyond the services he built, He left something even greater, he cemented the Mahoney name into Egypt’s maritime consciousness. Especially in Alexandria, the name still carries the weight of his vision, a name spoken in every port with respect, pride, and enduring legacy.
